Sources said Marshall was taken to Broward General Hospital by car, not ambulance, and underwent surgery late Friday night for a stab wound to the stomach.
Here's a timeline as ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Saturday morning:
About 8:47 a.m.: “Details still coming into ESPN, but Dolphins WR Brandon Marshal was stabbed and taken to a hospital, where he has been in intensive care.”
About 9 a.m.: “Details still sketchy but someone who knows about Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall being stabbed told ESPN, "He's going to be OK."
About 9:20 a.m.: Marshall's best friend and college teammate, Mike Sims-Walker tweeted that Marshall was going to be "ok and is in good spirits."
Around 10 a.m.: "Brandon Marshall was stabbed in stomach. No vital organs were pierced. Should make full recovery in two to three weeks."
Around 10:05 a.m.: "Thankfully he will make a full recovery..."
Around 10:50 a.m.: "At this hour, Brandon Marshall's wife is in jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and he is in intensive care with a stab wound."
Fortunately, it looks like Marshall is going to be OK, and even more fortunately we haven't done our 2011 fantasy football draft. We wish him a speedy recovery.
